This homegrown EdTech start-up is providing cutting edge online Assessment solutions to various stakeholders in an endeavour to stabilise and simplify the process of test creation, scheduling, invigilation, attempting and reviewing
In early 2020, spurred by the lockdown, they realized a massive gap in educational institutions' assessment needs and the available products in the market. The existing offerings were built on archaic technology stacks lacking speed, stability, and a simple user interface. No wonder teachers and students showed massive friction in adopting such half-baked offerings. Gradeazy was thus created to mitigate the above shortcomings while maintaining price consciousness for maximum adoption within the fast expanding online Indian education market. Gradeazy is about Simple, Secure, Assessments. In the current times Gradeazy solves the pertinent problem of taking school, college, coaching and organisations online with their assessment and assignment needs.
2020 was anyways expected to be the EdTech decade where education was gradually supposed to move to an online space. After witnessing undeniable synergies between AI and education the online transition though inevitable but was supposed to be slow, iterative and concrete. Lockdown and pandemic have actually fast tracked this adoption. Government is quickly trying to ramp up technological infrastructure for the entire country and is supportive in general. It felt like a good time to develop a simple and secure online assessment platform under Atmanirbhar Bharat for the world.
The founders, having learnt from their past experiences, understood that the fate of an online assessment platform would depend on how easy it is for Admins and Teachers to navigate and execute tasks. Gradeazy solves multiple use cases in education and professional life with a strong set of capabilities including MCQ / Subjective exams, coding questions, audio/video responses, live photo/video proctoring and much more. An account admin can now choose to balance proctoring and his budget based on different propensities to cheat for different upcoming examination or assignment use cases. Students/Candidates get access to a platform which is simple, stable and lightning quick, they can now attempt right from their mobile browser. Teachers get a platform where making question papers and proctoring students has convenient and effective user flows.
With over 90+ repeat customers such as coaching’s, schools, colleges and even some organisations, Gradeazy has clocked more than 4 lac assessments in the past 8 months and is looking for a 10x rise in the next season. A lot of their clients have transitioned from existing assessment platforms, some even of them being foreign platforms too.
“We aspire to become one of the most convenient and reliable platforms for asking questions and answering them in different facets of professional and personal life. Education is just the first application of what we are learning and building at Gradeazy,” quotes Dishant.
The founders view on the start-up community in India is that it is a growing market and definitely has a lot of potential. However, only time will tell in terms of how it pans out. Their advice for other founders will be to see the same dream over and over again before starting their company in an attempt to gain detailed clarity on the path and challenges ahead.
